The Ducks went into the transfer portal in search of just a few key pieces this offseason. One of which was Indiana offensive lineman Matthew Bedford.
The experienced and versatile Bedford was a perfect addition to an already strong offensive line room. At one point Bedford was committed to Colorado coming out of the portal. However after a visit to Oregon he had a change of heart and committed to the Ducks.
You can hear him talk about that in the video below or read some of his comments.
On Decision to Come to Oregon:
“Really focusing on the next level. My development was really the main point. Sitting down, having great conversations with coach Terry and the staff. That preparation has been great so far.”
On ‘Flipping’ from Colorado:
“It was pretty hard, but like I said before, it was best to do what is best for my future.”
On the OL Room:
“I love the edge that this room has. It’s pretty rare that a room like this has as much of a chip on our shoulder as we do. The knowledge in this room. A lot of experienced guys. We focus on detail.”

On Moving to Right Guard:
“Kind of leaning towards that. I kind of go off what the coaches need. I have that capability. It just so happened that the right guard spot was open. It’s been great.”
On Areas of Improvement:
“The details of the hands. Having a great stance. All those things, focusing on all of the details. I’m good right now but I want to be great.”
