Nation's No. 1 Defensive Lineman Eyes Potential Visit
We know by now to never count Dan Lanning out for elite defensive talent. While he might not land them all, he rarely doesn’t make a serious run at them if there is any interest.
Apparently the nation’s No. 1 ranked defensive lineman has interest.
Savannah Christian Prep (Ga.) star Elijah Griffin is the No. 4 ranked player in the country per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2025 class. And he has just announced his final twelve schools with Oregon making the cut.
Currently Georgia has a massive lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for the in-state star. Miami, USC, Florida, Alabama, Clemson and LSU are a few of the others making the cut for the five-star.

Griffin told On3’s Chad Simmons he will make visits to Miami, Georgia, USC and potentially Colorado in March. He did leave the door open for a visit to Oregon as well in his update.
“In April, I am planning to visit Oregon.”
While getting him on campus will be important for the Ducks, it would appear Lanning has time. Griffin said he plans on making a decision closer to the December signing period.
