Nevada hires Oregon linebackers coach Ken Wilson as head coach
One of Oregon’s highly-coveted position coaches has been poached by another school.
Ken Wilson, Oregon’s co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach, will be the next head coach at the University of Nevada, Reno, the school announced Friday morning.
Wilson has been with the Ducks since 2019 and has been a highly successful recruiter during that time. He played a pivotal role in bringing Justin Flowe, Noah Sewell, Keith Brown, and a handful of other talented players to Oregon.
Wilson served as an assistant at Nevada from 1989-98, and again from 2004-2012. He was also the linebackers coach at Washington State from 2013-2018.

At the time this story was published, Wilson is the second known assistant from Mario Cristobal’s staff who is leaving Oregon. Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal will join Cristobal at Miami; that has not been made official, but Mirabal has been on recruiting visits with Cristobal for the Hurricanes.
It has been reported that Cristobal also is aiming to bring Oregon receivers coach and pass game coordinator Bryan McClendon, running backs coach Jim Mastro, and strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld to him with Miami also.
McClendon is serving as Oregon’s interim head coach for the Dec. 29 Alamo Bowl.
