Note to Scoop Duck Family:

I made a mistake. Several weeks ago I spoke to the founder of Ducks Rising about their August launch. When the Eugene NIL Club hit everyone’s radar I wrongly assumed that Ducks Rising had changed their name. While I will always support any opportunity that Oregon student-athletes have to profit from their name, image or likeness, I must retract my enthusiastic support for the Eugene NIL Club. I can tell all of you that I personally know the founder of Ducks Rising and have for many, many years. Furthermore I have spoken with and know people connected with this new venture and  believe that it will be a success.

As an Oregon alumni and founder and CEO of Ducks Rising — which launches August 31st and will provide subscribers a premium, athlete-centric platform featuring their favorite Oregon athletes — Andrew Parmentier has big plans.

“Our goal at Ducks Rising is to galvanize Oregon’s national fan base through a platform that offers significant value to both monthly subscribers and athletes,” Parmentier tells Scoop Duck.

The team behind the project has been in stealth-mode for the last several months and has already garnered the support of several high profile current and former players as well as parents, according to conversations.

Parmentier, a former analyst on Wall Street and private equity executive believes fan support will come from two areas: the ability to hear from and interact with their favorite athletes and confidence in knowing that 80-90% of profit will go back to players via NIL contracts.

Former Oregon great, De’Anthony Thomas had some strong words for his belief in Ducks Rising and why he supports the collective.

“NIL is great and can provide a positive experience for student-athletes. But it needs guidance and leadership. Ducks Rising provides a safe and secure way for student athletes at Oregon to benefit. It really gives the athletes a chance to become a professional. And as a professional, build and profit off their brands. I look forward to working with Ducks Rising and helping Oregon student-athletes.”
