When Nishad Strother entered the transfer portal in late April, he immediately became one of their more coveted players on the market. A fourth-year junior offensive guard who started three seasons at East Carolina, Strother had his pick of marquee Power-5 programs during the month of May. He visited LSU and also heard from Oklahoma, but ultimately opted to commit to Oregon — a decision that seemed puzzling to many at the time.
