ScoopDuck beat writer Jarrid Denney contributed to this report.

Oregon’s first practice in over two weeks was a lively one.

The opening 15-20 minutes of the Ducks’ third spring practice was open to reporters, with players going through warmups for the first 10 minutes.

The players then broke out of warm-ups into position group drills. They then abruptly shifted to “bracket” drills, with receivers and running backs taking live reps against defensive players before returning to position groups.

  • Kris Hutson caught the first pass of these “bracket” reps against Dontae Manning.
  • Seven McGee (now actually wearing No. 7) caught a pass and looked very shifty while working against Jonathan Flowe.
  • In position drills, Tosh Lupoi worked with Junior Adams on a receivers and defensive backs drill.

Additional observations

  • Alex Forsyth was seen at practice but did not participate in position drills. He was not present for the Ducks’ first two spring practices.
  • Cam McCormick looked comfortable and was a full participant in practice.
  • Nothing official, as heights and weights are not listed on the spring roster, but the team looks bigger across the board. Even the newcomers are huge.
  • There was no sign of Andrew Boyle, the Washington State transfer kicker. Redshirt freshman Cristiano Palazzo was listed on the roster and took reps alongside Cam Lewis.
  • In the portion of practice that was open to media, the quarterbacks worked with Kenny Dillingham on footwork drills before taking part in the bracket drill. Shortly after, they threw to the tight ends, with Ty Thompson and Bo Nix taking the first reps simultaneously. Jay Butterfield and A.J. Abbott took the next reps.
