Oregon ace Adam Maier will reportedly miss remainder of 2022 season

Oregon baseball’s injury luck has gone from bad to worse.
The Ducks have been rolling without two of their top starting pitchers for much of the season. On Monday, though, Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball reported that Oregon ace Adam Maier will miss the rest of the season due to an elbow injury.
Maier, Oregon’s Friday night starter and a consensus top-100 prospect for the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft, has not pitched since March 4, when he left his start against UC Santa Barbara with an apparent elbow injury.

Last week, Oregon coach Mark Wasikowski said Maier was set to meet with a specialist this week and the outcome of that visit could determine a path forward for his season. During that interview, Wasikowski said redshirting could be an option for Maier.
D1Baseball also reported Monday that Maier is likely to return to Oregon next season.
In three starts this season, Maier struck out 19 batters in 15 2/3 innings while carrying a 4.02 ERA.
