Oregon all-conference defensive lineman Popo Aumavae out for season with foot injury
Dan Lanning delivered some substantial injury news during his weekly press conference Monday evening.
Popo Aumavae, a senior defensive tackle who was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection last season, will miss the remainder of the year with a foot injury, Lanning said.

The injury occurred in the days leading up to the game, according to Lanning. Aumavae’s absence on Saturday made waves, as he was the only starter on either side of the ball who was not suited up.
Last season, Aumavae racked up 16 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss for the Ducks and was consistently one of the best run-stoppers in the league. Pro Football Focus issued him an overall grade of 81.3 last season — the second best among all Pac-12 interior defensive linemen.
In Aumavae’s absence, senior Jordon Riley got the start against Georgia in the season-opener.
