The Ducks will be in their vaunted “nightmare green” uniforms with chrome helmets for their Week 10 tilt at Autzen.
More on Oregon’s matchup with Cal
The Ducks (7-1, 4-1 Pac-12) are coming off a dominant 35-6 win over Utah in Salt Lake last weekend that cemented their status among the College Football Playoff contenders.
Head coach Dan Lanning called the win Oregon’s most complete game it has played since he took over the program in December 2021.
“I certainly think we played a complete game but I know also that we can play a lot better,” Lanning said during his press conference on Monday. “And there are some moments there where I think we stubbed our toe, whether it be a penalty here or there that kind of held us back. You look at the end of the game, we had some penalties on drives that led to punts. Not necessarily the cause of a punt, but we just put ourselves in a position where we could have been a lot more successful throughout the game, and there are some missed opportunities that were sitting out there as well that we can take advantage of.

“So, lots of room for growth. But did we play a complete game? Yeah, I absolutely feel like we did.”
Cal (3-5, 1-4), meanwhile, is coming off a thrilling 50-49 loss to USC in which it fell a two-point conversion shot of upsetting the Trojans.
The Golden Bears feature some exciting skill position talent, including star running back Jaydn Ott and wideout Jeremiah Hunter.
“They’ve found a rhythm and they’ve settled in at quarterback,” Lanning said. “They have some really talented skill players. I think their running back is leading the conference in yards. He’s certainly dynamic and has had some explosive runs. He’s an NFL back for sure. They’ve created a lot of success for themselves on offense. And they play really sound on defense. Their coaching staff obviously has ties to this place, but they built a brand of what good defensive football looks like over his career.
“And I think there’s a lot of things that are coming together for them. They’re an extremely capable team. So yeah, they are playing their best ball right now. And they’re gonna be a challenge for some of the things that they do.”
