Oregon baseball surges in latest rankings
The Oregon Ducks baseball program saw its stock rise after a pivotal weekend sweep at Washington.
The Ducks were not ranked in last week’s D1Baseball rankings but soared to No. 20 in Monday’s updated rankings. Oregon (24-11, 10-5) moved into a tie for first place in the Pac-12 standings over the weekend by taking all three games from the Huskies in Seattle, including a nail-biting 6-5 win in extra innings on Saturday.
After hitting a bit of a rough patch in early April, Oregon has rebounded nicely to win its past five games. Now the Ducks find themselves in the thick of an uber-competitive race for first place in the conference.
Oregon State, which is tied with the Ducks atop the Pac-12 standings, swept Long Beach State over the weekend and now sits at 27-7 on the season and 10-5 in conference play.
