The Ducks are all set for March Madness. A time when Dana Altman has typically shined leading teams deep into the NCAA tournament.

Oregon was given the chance to play as a 5-seed in this years tournament. They have some tremendous wins on their resume. Even though Oregon didn’t win the Big Ten tournament, they finished the season on an 8-game win streak before Michigan State ended their bid in the tournament.

Oregon now faces Liberty and enters the contest as the favorites. Per Circa Sports, Oregon is favored by 6 points as they prepare for the 12 seed. That game will be played on Friday night at 7:10 PM PST and will air on TruTV.

The Ducks are +15000 to win the NCAA tournament. Duke has the best odds at +325 per Circa with Florida at +350 and Auburn at +400.

Should Oregon beat Liberty in the first round it would set up a potential Oregon vs Arizona matchup in round 2. Arizona is the 4-seed in the East bracket and opens up with 14-seed Akron. Assuming that matchup, the winner would potentially face 1-seed Duke. The Blue Devils enter with the uncertainty around Cooper Flagg’s ankle injury. But clearly Vegas believes he’ll play giving them the best odds to win the NCAA tournament.

Oregon has leaned heavily on the strong play of Nate Bittle the last few weeks. He’s been a rim protector and rebounding machine for Oregon. His length will be a massive mismatch for the undersized Liberty team.

TJ Bamba continues his strong play on the defensive end as well. For Oregon it’s going to be very important for Jackson Shelstad to get going. He’s been inconsistent the last couple of weeks and when he plays at a high level Oregon can be a very difficult team to beat.

Can Dana Altman work his magic once again? The Ducks are 8-1 in it last 9 games and as long as they play fundamental basketball and don’t turn the ball over, they could make some noise in the tournament.
