Oregon Co-DC Chris Hampton: "I've got a lot of help"
Oregon co-defensive coordinator Chris Hampton met with media Thursday after Oregon’s second Spring practice of this week. He had a lot to discuss with him taking over the secondary this off-season.
Hampton mentioned enjoying having control of the entire room and talked about a few standouts from Spring so far.
On Taking Over Secondary:
“We meet together, with all the DB’s. I’ve got a bunch of help though. Rashad Wadood works with our corners, Antonio Parks and Connor Boyd help me with the safeties. I’ve got a lot of help. I’ve done it before.”
On Jabbar Muhammad:
“He’s really competitive. Elite ball skills. He’s a competitor. They all talked about how much he competes and loves the game.”

On Tysheem Johnson:
“The biggest thing is he’s become an elite communicator. He’s a warrior, tough, loves to tackle. Last year coming in he didn’t say a whole bunch from a leadership standpoint, but I’ve heard him a whole bunch this year.”
On Kam Alexander:
“He’s really fast, he’s got really good ball skills. I think he’s going to be a really good asset for us. He takes really good notes in meetings, really good notes.”
On Jahlil Florence:
“We might get some out of him later in the Spring. His rehab is going really good. He’s in a much better place than he was a year ago. He’s got a lot of potential, he’s long, change of direction. He could be an NFL player. He can tackle, he’s really smart. We just gotta make sure he gets back healthy.”
