Oregon DB Commit Caleb Presley Flips to Washington
It’s been some up and down news on the recruiting trail for Oregon. While the Ducks added a priority defensive back transfer last Sunday and another two preps on signing day, they lose out on a prep commit at the same position.
Rainier Beach (Wash.) defensive back Caleb Presley has announced his decision to play at Washington. The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder had been committed to Oregon since July 5. Presley is the nation’s No. 161 ranked player in the On3 Consensus Rankings.
In recent weeks Presley had been on campus to visit the Washington Huskies. That was the start of the concern about his commitment. The Ducks had still felt pretty good about his commitment until the last week.
Oregon remains pretty strong in the secondary. Not only did the Ducks add transfer Khyree Jackson, Peyton Bowen and Daylen Austin, they still hold commitments from Cole Martin, Kodi Decambra, Tyler Turner and Collin Gill. The Ducks are also working on a few remaining targets in the 2023 class like Solomon Davis and Rodrick Pleasant.

The early signing period concludes on Friday. Oregon has closed incredibly strong down the stretch and moved inside the top 10 of recruiting rankings.
On3 Scouting Summary:
Two-way player that possesses natural ball skills at receiver and corner, while projecting on defense long-term. Smooth mover that has the ability to stick his foot in the ground and break on the ball with ease. Technical corner that has fluid movement skills. Looks comfortable and patient in coverage and does not play out of control. Has good length, with a 6-foot-4 wing-span at around 6-feet in height. Long speed appears strong but not elite. Ran an electronically-timed 4.62 40 in 2020 as a freshman. Shows more twitch and wiggle than long speed as a return man for kickoff and punt. Need to see him add some mass to a leaner athletic frame in order to reach his max potential at the next level.
