Oregon defensive lineman Jayson Jones enters transfer portal

Oregon freshman Jayson Jones has entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz.

Jones, a rotation player for the Ducks, played sparingly at the start of the season but began to gain more playing time as the season went on. He played in all 13 games and recorded 19 tackles, five solo tackles, and 1.5 sacks.

A former 4-star signee, Jones was the No. 341 overall player in the class of 2020 the No. 37 defensive lineman, and the No. 18 overall recruit from the state of Alabama. Jones also held offers from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama among many others.

Jones was listed the No. 2 option at nose tackle on Oregon’s most recent organizational chart. He played a season-high 31 snaps in the Pac-12 title game against Utah.
