Oregon defensive lineman Jordon Riley selected in seventh round of 2023 NFL Draft

The New York Giants selected former Oregon defensive lineman Jordon Riley with the 243rd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Riley, who began his career at Nebraska, transferred to UO ahead of his senior season and became a mainstay along the Ducks’ defensive front.
In 13 games last season, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound senior finished with 21 total tackles, seven of which were solo stops, 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and one pass breakup.
Riley played 331 snaps on defense and 70 on special teams and earned an 82.4 tackling grade from Pro Football Focus, which was the third-best among Oregon defenders.
A former 3-star recruit n the class of 2017, Riley was the No. 88 defensive lineman in the nation for his class. He started his career at North Carolina before transferring to Garden City Community College. In 2019, he transferred to Nebraska and played 16 career games for the Huskers.
Riley was the fifth Oregon player selected during the 2023 NFL Draft. The New England Patriots selected cornerback Christian Gonzalez in the first round on Thursday and the Carolina Panthers selected EDGE DJ Johnson in the third round on Friday. On Saturday, the Chicago Bears selected linebacker Noah Sewell in the fifth round and the Baltimore Ravens selected offensive lineman Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu in the sixth round.
Offensive linemen T.J. Bass, Alex Forsyth, Ryan Walk, receiver Chase Cota, and defensive back Bennett Williams are among the former Ducks who will hope to land with NFL teams in the coming days.
