In a little over two weeks, college football will be back in Eugene.

On Thursday the University of Oregon announced the dates for its annual pro day, as well as start dates for spring practices.

UO’s pro day will be held on Tuesday, March 12, at the Moshofsky Center in Eugene. An official start time will be announced at a later date.

The Ducks will kick off spring ball on March 14, and then hold another practice on March 16. Oregon will then take a two-week break for winter term finals and spring break before resuming practice on April 2.

That is the same spring schedule that UO operated under last season.

Oregon’s spring game will take place at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, April 27.

More on Oregon’s offseason, 2024 outlook

Ahead of his third season at the helm of the Oregon program, Dan Lanning inked the highest-rated signing class in program history.

The Ducks’ 27-player 2024 class is ranked No. 4 nationally, according to the On3 Industry ranking and features. Oregon made a late splash on the recruiting trail by inking 5-star receiver Gatlin Bair on National Signing Day.

“We want to build the roster from the ground up. We want to start with high school players that we think we can develop that can come make an impact,” Lanning said on Feb. 7. “But at times you want to supplement that with the portal. I think we’ve done a good job of that.”

For the third year in a row, Oregon has been one of the most effective programs in the country at utilizing the transfer portal. The Ducks bolstered both sides of the ball with marquee additions, including quarterback Dillon Gabriel, receiver Evan Stewart, and cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, among others.

Oregon is also returning plenty of talent from last year’s Fiesta Bowl-winning squad.

Receiver Tez Johnson, tight end Terrance Ferguson, offensive tackles Ajani Cornelius and Josh Conerly Jr., linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, defensive end Jordan Burch, and defensive back Tysheem Johnson earned all-conference honorable mention recognition and will be back in 2024.

“We gotta go play games and see how we play as a team, but we have a lot of talent on this roster,” Lanning said. “It is the most talented roster I’ve had since we’ve been here.”

Oregon will open its first season as a member of the Big Ten against Idaho on Aug. 31 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The Ducks will kick off conference play against UCLA in Pasadena on Sept. 28.
