Oregon Ducks land at No. 8 in initial College Football Playoff rankings

On Tuesday, the College Football Playoff Selection revealed its initial top 25 rankings.
The highly-anticipated rankings release, which aired on ESPN, is the first of six weekly releases. The final rankings will be revealed on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 9 a.m. PT, with the top four teams
The Oregon Ducks have reentered the CFP conversation in recent weeks, thanks in large part to a big Week 8 win over UCLA.
But in the eyes of the committee, the Ducks still have plenty of work to do if they hope to crack the top four this season.

Oregon landed at No. 8 in Tuesday’s initial rankings. The Ducks are one of five Pac-12 teams that landed in the top 25, along with USC (No. 9), UCLA (No. 12), Utah (No. 14), and Oregon State (No. 23).
Georiga, which dealt the Ducks a blowout loss in their season-opener, came in at No. 1. Tennesee, Ohio State, and Clemson round out the top four.
