Oregon Ducks open as two-score favorite ahead of top-25 showdown with Washington
The No. 6 Oregon Ducks will face one of their toughest tests of the season next Saturday when they host the No. 23 Washington Huskies at Autzen Stadium.
Over the years, the rivalry between the two Northwest foes has featured countless entries. This time around, there will be plenty at stake as Oregon looks to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive and Washington aims to build on its bounce-back season under Kalen DeBoer.
Following Oregon’s blowout win over Colorado on Saturday, Ducks’ head coach Dan Lanning was asked how his team will go about preparing for Washington.
“Preparations really already started,” Lanning said. “Before we even get into that next week. … We’ve kind of taken our time throughout the bye week and said, ‘Okay, what do we really want this week to look like as we enter this last stretch of the season?’ You don’t make it a different game than it is. But at the same time, there’s an expectation. This is an important game for us and we want to go win the game. But you do that with work.
“We’re going to go work; that’s what we’re going to do. Do you change your routine? Not necessarily. You’ll do some things potentially differently. But you don’t change what got you here.”
