Former Ducks basketball coach returns to Oregon

Monday saw the report of former Oregon Assistant Coach Josh Jamieson coming back to Eugene as Oregon’s Executive Director/ Assistant Coach according to CBS’s Jon Rothstein. Jamieson spent the last two seasons on Kenny Payne’s staff at Louisville as an assistant coach.
Prior to his short stint at Louisville, Jamieson spent fifteen seasons with Oregon, working up from a graduate manager to Assistant Coach. His long tenure with Oregon included Oregon’s 2017 Final Four run, which ended in a narrow loss to North Carolina.

Jamieson isn’t the only former staff member back with the Ducks however, as longtime Oregon assistant Tony Stubblefield returns after being Depaul’s Head Coach for the past three seasons. Prior to his departure for the blue demons, Stubblefield was with the Ducks for eleven seasons.
In those eleven seasons, Stubblefield is credited for helping put together some of Oregon’s best recruiting classes. Four consecutive classes which were ranked in the top twelve nationally (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). Notable players in some of those classes were: Troy Brown Jr., Bol Bol, Payton Pritchard, and Chris Duarte. Oregon saw an uptick in recruiting almost immediately following Stubblefield’s return as assistant coach, primarily in the transfer portal.
