There has been no shortage of hype surrounding this Saturday’s showdown between the No. 6 Oregon Ducks and No. 23 Washington Huskies in Eugene.

On Wednesday, Oregon revealed its uniform combination and they have generated another layer of intrigue for the rivalry game. True to the school colors, the Ducks will be in all yellow when they square off with the Huskies at Autzen Stadium.

As always, the β€œhate week” leadup to the showdown between the Ducks and Huskies has not lacked for storylines.

Throughout the week, Oregon coach Dan Lanning and his staff have pumped in the UW fight song β€”Β Bow Down to WashingtonΒ β€” during practice. Lanning said he wants to song to be at the forefront of his players’ minds as they prepare this week.

Β β€œI think it’s something to jog your memory and get you a little competitive during practice and get your mind right. Get you passionate about the game,” Oregon quarterback Bo Nix said. β€œI’m not going to say it was necessarily irritating, but I think it’s a good mindset to have. Once you listen to it on repeat at the start of practice it kind of sets the tone.”

Last season, the Ducks delivered a 26-16 win over the Huskies in Seattle at a time when they were the No. 4 team in the nation.

In his first season at the helm of the Oregon program, Lanning has had conversations with a few Ducks’ legends ahead of Saturday’s game.

β€œYou know, I’m getting to talk to some former alumni that have played here. Coach (Mike Bellotti), Dan Fouts, guys that I’ve been able to kind of link up with and just communicate with on what this game has been like over time,” Lanning said during his Monday press conference. β€œIt’s been exciting for me because this game means something to people. And you know, not just our players. Our players are gonna go out there and execute every single game but it means something to people outside of that arena. I’m excited to see our fans come up and make an impact, but also our players get out there and take care of business.”
