Oregon Ducks tabbed as longshots to win 2023 College Football Playoff Championship
With the 2022 season officially in the books, bettors and oddsmakers around the country are already setting their sights on 2023.
Shortly after Georgia’s dominant win over TCU in Monday’s national title game, Vegas Insider released its odds for which programs are most likely to win to 2023 College Football Playoff Championship.
Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks weren’t far from the top of the list.
According to Vegas Insider, the Ducks have the 13th-best odds in the nation at +3,000.
Only one Pac-12 program has better odds: USC at +1,400.
Utah (+4,000), Washington (+4,000), UCLA (+10,000), and Oregon State (+10,000) were listed as well.
Georgia is heavily favored to complete a three-peat, according to Vegas Insider. The Bulldogs sit at +275 — well ahead of Alabama (+500) and Ohio State (+800).
After falling flat in Monday’s title game, TCU sits at +6,000.
Oregon is in the process of reshaping its roster after an up-and-down 10-3 season that featured plenty of promise but was torpedoed by two disastrous losses to Washington and Oregon State at the end of the regular season.
The Ducks’ College Football Playoff hopes were bolstered in December when star quarterback Bo Nix announced he will return for the 2023 season.

**Addition of Fresno State transfer Evan Williams provides versatility for Oregon’s defense**
Oregon made another significant addition by way of the transfer portal on Tuesday when it landed a commitment from former Fresno State defensive back Evan Williams.
One of the top remaining players available in the portal, Williams will be key in helping Oregon replace a couple of significant departures from its 2022 defense — including Bennett Williams, a star safety for the Ducks who is the older brother of Evan Williams.
Much like his brother, Evan Williams is an intelligent, versatile player who can play a variety of roles for Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi’s defense.
In 10 games with the Bulldogs last season, Williams tallied 69 tackles and four pass deflections while lining up all over the field.
Here’s a breakdown of where Williams lined up for the Bulldogs during the 2022 season, according to Pro Football Focus.
