After a monster season, he was rewarded with Gatorade Player of the Year honors on Tuesday.
Purchase led his team with 57 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 18 sacks. Cherry Creek won its fourth straight state title at the 5A level behind those efforts.
Oregon currently has 24 verbal commits in the 2023 class. A class that ranks No. 12 nationally and tops in the Pac-12 conference.
From the ScoopDuck Eval on Purchase back in September.
QB11: “Purchase has good flexibility through his core which is evident both in his ability to bend at the apex as a rusher and to make plays off blocks as a run defender. Overall this is a really solid pickup on a player who has been a favorite of mine since early in the process. While he doesn’t have elite explosiveness or physical size, he’s a very good football player who displays very good body control and instincts. I think Purchase is the type of player who can find his way to the field faster than most would expect.“
