The No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks took on the visiting Washington Huskies Saturday at Autzen Stadium and wrapped up an authoritative 49-14 win, icing their undefeated regular season at 12-0.

First Quarter

Running back Jordan James took almost every touch on a smooth, methodical drive that got Oregon into the red zone before Noah Whittington took a handoff off the right edge for the Ducks’ first score of the contest. On the next drive, Washington hit a deep ball down the right sideline before stalling in the red zone and kicking a field goal to make it 7-3 Oregon with 5:24 to go in the first.

Second Quarter

A fumble by Whittington set Washington up in plus territory where it was sacked on third down by Ducks’ edge Matayo Uiagalelei before knocking down a 40-yard field goal, bringing it to 7-6 Oregon. A crossing route from quarterback Dillon Gabriel to wide receiver Traeshon Holden had room to spare, springing the senior to the one-yard line where James converted to make it 14-6 Ducks with 8:13 left in the half.

A Washington fumble set Oregon up in the red zone where it got James two quick touches that netted another touchdown for the junior. A point after made it 21-6 Ducks with 7:23 until halftime.

A long punt return from wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. set the Ducks up in plus territory where a deep strike to tight end Terrance Ferguson led to a Gabriel scramble touchdown that put the Ducks up 22 with 5:01 left in the half. A nice Huskies’ drive complete with scrambles and toe-tap catches put them in position for running back Jonah Coleman to punch it in from a yard out, making it 28-14 after a successful two-point conversion.

Third Quarter

Oregon got the ball after a stalled Washington drive and ground the ball in the run game before Gabriel found receiver Tez Johnson wide open on a corner route to make it 35-14 and open the floodgates.

Fourth Quarter

The Ducks continued to gash the Huskies with both runs and passes to James and Whittington, leading to Gabriel finding Ferguson on a rollout pass to further cement the blowout at 42-14. Dante Moore came in at quarterback for Oregon and led a drive downfield with mostly penalties, ending in a one-yard touchdown carry for Da’Juan Riggs to make it 49-14 with five minutes left in the contest.

A crossing route for Washington found receiver Giles Jackson in the end zone for a garbage time touchdown that brought it to a slightly sightlier 49-21 final score.
