Heisman Hype: Dakorien Moore Predicts Oregon QB Dante Moore Will Win the Heisman

Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore has the fourth-best odds to the win the 2025 Heisman Trophy at +1,300 on FanDuel.
But one of his Duck teammates, true freshman and former five-star plus+ wide receiver recruit Dakorien Moore, sees him hoisting college football’s most prestigious trophy in New York after this season.
“I think he will win the Heisman this year,” Moore said on a recent episode of the Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark.
Moore has only been in Eugene for a few months after arriving as an early enrollee in the winter from Duncanville, Texas. But apparently he’s seen enough from the former five-star passer and UCLA quarterback in Dante Moore to make his prediction.
The younger Moore isn’t the first person to make a lofty prediction in favor of the Detroit native.
Former Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson got the hype train rolling before January’s Rose Bowl.
“Dante Moore? He’ll be a Heisman finalist next year. 100%,” Johnson said. “It’s something you ain’t seen yet. That boy can throw a ball like no other. I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s so ready. He’s so ready to play, you can just tell.”

It’s clear that Moore would need a stellar season to win the Heisman, but it’s easy to make a case for it. After all, Oregon sent each of its last two starting quarterbacks, Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel, who Moore sat and learned behind last season, to New York as Heisman Trophy finalists.
Don’t forget former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota became the program’s first Heisman Trophy winner in 2014. Moore will also have a talented and experienced offensive line to protect him while he gets the ball to playmakers like Moore, tight end Kenyon Sadiq and Evan Stewart among other exciting skill players.
Moore was Oregon’s highest-rated prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and is expected to play a significant role as a true freshman.
But what if his role isn’t as big as he or some fans expect it to be this year? He was asked that very question in the interview and put the team, specifically his quarterback, first.
“If I don’t get the playing time that I think I ‘deserve’ or whatever, it’s not really gonna do anything to me mentally,” Moore said. “Cause I’m a freshman coming in and I will be behind guys that have obviously been there, learned the system, been with the quarterbacks.
“We have Dante Moore, he’s been under the system already. Just making sure he’s comfortable at all times and stuff like that. You gotta do what’s best for the quarterback.”
