College GameDay is heading to back to Eugene.

ESPN’s signature college football show will head to the Pacific Northwest in Week 7 for a massive showdown between the Oregon Ducks and the Ohio State Buckeyes, the show announced on Saturday afternoon.

Oregon and Ohio State are both off to strong starts in 2024 and sit at 5-0 on the year. Oregon defeated the Michigan State Spartans 31-10 in Eugene in Week 7, while the Buckeyes defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 35-7 in Columbus.

Oregon and Ohio State both have national championship aspirations and are led by transfer quarterbacks, as Dillon Gabriel leads the Oregon offense after transferring from Oklahoma, and Will Howard leads Chip Kelly’s offense after transferring in from Kansas State.

The two major programs last faced each other back in 2021, a game the Ducks won 35-28 inside the Horseshoe in Columbus. Oregon is 1-9 all-time against Ohio State, as the two teams also met in the national championship during the 2014-2015 college football season.

The Ducks and Buckeyes were supposed to play in Eugene in 2020 as part of their non-conference schedule, but wildfires and the COVID-19 Pandemic cancelled the game.

Plenty will be on the line next weekend when the two teams clash in Eugene next weekend.
