Oregon junior tight end Kenyon Sadiq played in all 14 games as a true freshman in 2023. In 2024 he took a big step in his evolution, emerging as a big-play threat with every touch in Will Stein‘s offense.

As a sophomore he finished with 22 catches for 280 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Both of those touchdowns came on the big stage against Penn State in the Big Ten Championship.

Heading into 2025 the expectations for Sadiq continue to grow. He’s the new face of a tight end room that loses veterans Terrance Ferguson and Patrick Herbert. The Ducks add freshman Vander Ploog and Louisville transfer Jamari Johnson to the mix as well.

Despite added expectations, there’s no shortage of confidence that he’ll be able to rise to the occasion for the Ducks offense. In fact, it’s likely he’ll become a favorite target for Dante Moore in 2025.

On Thursday Max Chadwick at the Athletic released his top 10 returning tight ends for the 2025 season and slotted Sadiq at No. 6. The Idaho native was one of three Big Ten tight ends to crack the top-10.

Here’s what Chadwick had to say about Oregon’s projected tight end 1:

“While Sadiq served as the Ducks’ No. 2 tight end as a sophomore, playing behind Terrance Ferguson, what he showed on a limited workload warrants a spot on this list.

His 80.9 PFF overall grade this past season ranked ninth among all tight ends, and the Idaho native was also one of two tight ends who earned top-15 grades both as a receiver and as a run blocker. The other was Harold Fannin Jr., a top-100 prospect on PFF’s 2025 big board.

Across only 350 snaps, Sadiq finished as one of the 15 most valuable tight ends in college football, according to PFF’s wins above average metric. He’s the biggest breakout candidate at the position and should become a household name next year.”
