This was probably the year the Ducks were best equipped to chase a national title, but why did they fall so flat in Pasadena? Was it the three-week layoff between the Big Ten Championship and the Rose Bowl? Was it the personnel? Were they unprepared?
There’s a multitude of reasons why Oregon came up short and finished the season at 13-1. A brutal loss this late in the season will sting any fanbase, but there’s still some positives to glean from Oregon’s first season in the Big Ten and third season under Dan Lanning.
The Ducks are positioned and built to be a contender for years to come, but the question remains: what’s going to get them over that hump to capture their first national championship in program history?
