The nation’s No. 1 wide receiver, five-star Chris Henry Jr. of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is gearing up for a busy slate of visits on the recruiting trail.

On Tuesday, the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Ohio State commit set his official visits.

Henry will take official visits to Miami, USC, Oregon and Ohio State this summer, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

He’ll visit the Hurricanes on May 30, the Trojans on June 8, the Ducks on June 13 and wrap things up with the Buckeyes on June 20. Each trip will last three days as he works his way toward a final decision.

Oregon, USC and Ohio State have all been involved with Henry for a while, but Miami is a bit of a newer school in the mix. Henry recently traveled to Coral Gables during a 7on7 trip with his team South Florida Express for Battle Miami.

The Ducks have been playing the long game to flip Henry from his Buckeye pledge. That all got started when he transferred to Mater Dei prior to the 2024 season.

Lanning and company recently hosted Henry for Junior Day in Eugene last month.

“Oregon’s really high with me,” Henry told ScoopDuck after the trip. “They’re right under Ohio State for me. They’re pushing hard and I let them know it’s not gonna be easy to flip me. They’re trying their best for sure.”

Ohio State wide receivers coach and newly-minted offensive coordinator Brian Hartline has played a big role in Henry’s pledge to the Buckeyes. It could be difficult for the Ducks to get Henry in the fold as long as he’s on staff in Columbus. But they’re sure going to try.

A new face in the Henry recruitment

Adding to the intrigue in Henry’s Oregon recruitment is the expected hire of Ross Douglas to coach wide receivers at Oregon. This is expected after Junior Adams was hired by the Dallas Cowboys in the same role.

Douglas is expected to join the Ducks after spending the 2024 season at Syracuse with Fran Brown. Like Henry, he’s an Ohio native. That could give the Ducks another feather in their cap as they work to pull off what could win up as one of the biggest flips in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
