Former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Malik Benson has committed to Oregon. He announced his pledge on social media following a trip to Eugene this weekend.
The newest Duck was also considering the Kansas State Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers in his latest transfer portal recruitment.
Benson will play his final season of college football with the Ducks after spending the 2024 season in Tallahassee. This past season he caught 25 passes for 311 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. His lone scoring play came against the Miami Hurricanes on October 26.
He is the No. 115 wide receiver in the On3 transfer portal rankings.
Prior to playing with the Seminoles, Benson spent one season in Tuscaloosa playing for Nick Saban in his final year as the head coach at Alabama. That year he played in all 14 games for the Crimson Tide. He caught 13 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown.

He’s the first transfer portal wide receiver to commit to Junior Adams and the Ducks for the 2025 season. Oregon’s wide receiver room will lose significant production with the departures of seniors Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden for the NFL.
The Ducks signed a pair of coveted wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class. Adams stayed out West to sign four-star wideout Cooper Perry from Scottsdale, Arizona and went back to the talent-rich state of Texas to nab five-star+ plus route runner Dakorien Moore from national powerhouse Duncanville. Both of the young receivers are on campus in Eugene as early enrollees.
Benson is the seventh player from the transfer portal to commit to Dan Lanning and the Ducks. He’s the first offensive skill player to announce his pledge.
