Former Texas State offensive tackle Alex Harkey has committed to Oregon, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound lineman committed to the Ducks shortly after an official visit out to Eugene that began earlier this week.

Harkey spent time at Tyler Junior College, Colorado and Texas State before committing to Dan Lanning and Oregon. While he was in the transfer portal he received offers from programs like Cincinatti, Illinois, Cal and Texas tech among others. The newest Duck is the No. 3 ranked offensive tackle in the transfer portal according to On3.

Harkey will have one year of eligibility remaining upon enrolling at Oregon for the 2025 season. He’ll join an offensive line that will likely include Iapani Laloulu, Dave Iuli and Matthew Bedford among others.

The Austin, Texas native is the third transfer portal commitment for Oregon this cycle. He joins former Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman and former Northwestern cornerback Theran Johnson.

Offensive tackle has been a major position of need for the Ducks in the transfer portal with starting right tackle Ajani Cornelius heading to the NFL and starting left tackle Josh Conerly Jr. raising his NFL Draft stock with a strong junior season.

Aside from Harkey, Oregon has been recruiting former Nevada offensive tackle Isaiah World, who arrived in Eugene for an official visit earlier this week.

A’lique Terry and the Ducks signed five offensive linemen from the high school rankings in the 2025 recruiting class, two of which project to be offensive tackles during their college careers.
