Nation's No. 1 CB Brandon Arrington Jr. Sets Commitment Date

Brandon Arrington Jr. has been breaking San Diego records as a top-flight sprinter this spring. Off the track he’s also been juggling his recruitment, taking visits to top programs all across the country.
Now, the the top cornerback in the On3 Industry Ranking from Spring Valley (Calif.) Mount Miguel has set a commitment date. The 6-foot-2 1/2, 180-pound defensive back will make his college commitment on July 5 and choose from a top group of Oregon, USC, Alabama, Texas A&M and Penn State.
Arrington’s new commitment date comes on the heels of an unofficial visit out to Eugene for Oregon’s spring game over the weekend.
“This was one of the best visits I had so far honestly,” Arrington told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “Everything was perfect. Just being around the players, coaches, having great conversations with people you never met before.”
During the trip the San Diego area prospect got to spend time with former Ducks like cornerback Christian Gonzalez and wide receiver Troy Franklin. Gonzalez, a former first-round NFL Draft pick now with the New England Patriots, was back in Eugene as a guest coach for Oregon’s spring game.

Arrington getting clarity on his decision could bode well for Dan Lanning and company.
Prior to releasing his commitment date on Monday evening, Arrington took to social media, writing in a post on X “Sooner than I thought.”
His commitment date also comes with a slight change in his top group. The coveted defensive back had previously included Georgia in his top six schools back in March. He visited Athens this spring but it appears he’s no longer considering the Bulldogs.
Arrington also took spring visits to USC and Alabama this spring. The fastest prospect in California has an official visit scheduled to Oregon on June 20 and will also visit USC, Alabama, Texas A&M and Penn State.
