QUAAACK: Theran Johnson Commits to Oregon

Oregon has landed another transfer portal commitment, this time from former Northwestern cornerback Theran Johnson. On3’s No. 3 transfer portal cornerback announced his decision over social media on Sunday morning.
The 5-foot-11, 182-pound redshirt junior cornerback will head to Eugene to play for Dan Lanning after spending the last four years in Evanston.
He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
While at Northwestern Johnson played in 33 career games. In those games he recorded 96 total tackles, 20 pass breakups and 3 interceptions. He also recorded 5.5 tackles for loss. He was named to All-Big Ten second-team for the 2024 season.
Johnson is the second transfer portal addition of the weekend for Oregon. On Saturday, the Ducks picked up a pledge from former Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman.

As a recruit, Johnson was rated a three-star (84.25 per On3 Industry) prospect that signed with Northwestern out of Indianapolis (Ind.) North Central High School.
The On3 Industry ranked him the No. 785 player nationally, the No. 73 cornerback and the No. 14 prospect in Indiana.
Johnson’s commitment is significant for Oregon, as the Ducks are slated to lose three of their starting cornerbacks following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
