2025 OL Alai Kalaniuvalu Flips Commitment From Oregon to BYU
2025 On3 Industry four-star Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman offensive lineman Alai Kalaniuvalu has flipped his commitment from the Oregon Ducks to the BYU Cougars.
He announced his decision over social media on Saturday afternoon.
“Comin’ home,” he wrote in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The 6-foot-3, 297-pound lineman committed to Oregon on July 10 and was one of four offensive line commits for A’lique Terry in the 2025 class. He is slated to serve a mission trip with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints upon graduating from high school.
Kalaniuvalu is ranked the No. 271 player nationally, the No. 20 interior offensive lineman and the No. 4 prospect in Nevada according to the On3 Industry rankings. He was one of two offensive lineman at Bishop Gorman committed to the Ducks, along with four-star teammate Douglas Utu, who flipped his pledge from Tennessee to Oregon in September.
Oregon’s offensive line group in the 2025 class now consists of four-star Ziyare Addison, Utu and three-star Demetri Manning.
