Oregon lands 11 players on PFF 2023 preseason All-Pac-12 teams
The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks ahead of the 2023 campaign.
On Monday, Pro Football Focus released its three preseason All-Pac-12 offensive, defensive, and special teams. In total, 11 Oregon players made the cut.
Earlier this month, Phil Steele selected 13 Ducks to his four preseason all-conference teams.
While there was a bit of overlap between the two publications, PFF ultimately selected a handful of Oregon players that did not make the cut for Steele.
Running back Bucky Irving and safety Evan Williams were the Ducks’ lone PFF first-team selections. Irving was an honorable mention all-conference selection during his first season with the Ducks last fall.
Williams, the younger brother of former Oregon standout Bennett Williams, transferred in from Fresno State during the offseason and is expected to start at box safety for the Ducks in 2023.
Troy Franklin was tabbed by PFF as a preseason offensive second-team pick. The 6-foot-3 junior experienced a breakout season last fall and is projected to be one of the top receivers in the nation this season.
EDGE Brandon Dorlus, defensive tackle Popo Aumavae, cornerback Trikweze Bridges, and kicker Camden Lewis earned second-team recognition, too.
Dorlus, Aumavae, and Lewis have all earned all-conference recognition earlier in their careers. Bridges started alongside Christan Gonzalez at cornerback last season and is expected to play an integral role for the Ducks once again.

Oregon’s preseason honorees were rounded out by four third-team offensive selections: quarterback Bo Nix, receiver Tez Johnson, guard Junior Angilau, and center Jackson Powers-Johnson.
Nix has generated plenty of preseason Heisman buzz after an outstanding 2022 season with the Ducks. But USC’s Caleb Williams and Washington’s Micahel Penix Jr. were selected ahead of him for first- and second-team honors.
Angilau, who transferred in from Texas during the offseason, was limited by an injury during spring ball and will be competing for a starting job this fall.
