Dana Altman’s Oregon men’s basketball program has landed its first commitment from the 2025 recruiting class.

On Thursday, Central Catholic (Ore.) standout Isaac Carr announced that he has committed to Altman’s Ducks over offers from Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, and many others. A 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard, Carr is the top prospect in the state of Oregon and a 3-star prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

As a sophomore last season, Carr averaged 14.8 points per game, while shooting 36.8 percent from three-point range.

Oregon currently features one commitment in the 2024 recruiting class, too. Earlier this fall, 6-foot-8 center Ibrahima Traore committed to the Ducks.

Altman and his staff landed the No. 3 overall class in the 2023 cycle with a star-studded group that included 4-star signees Kwame Evans Jr., Mookie Cook, and Jackson Shelstad.

More on Oregon’s 2023-24 outlook

Oregon is set to open its 2023-24 season Nov. 6 against Georgia in Las Vegas.

The Ducks are coming off a disappointing 20-15 finish last season after missing out on the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.

In his final press conference of the season, Altman vowed that he and his staff would make wholesale roster changes in order to get the program back on track.

“We’re gonna evaluate all the guys individually,” Altman said in March. “We’ve gotta have guys who wanna be here. We’ve gotta make some changes. We’re not good enough. Either we’re not coaching good enough or the players aren’t good enough. We’re just not good enough. We’ve gotta get better. If that means changing personnel, if that means getting in the gym more. … We’re just not good enough.

“So, I’ve gotta start with me. I’m not good enough. Then we go right down the list. But, 21-15, that’s not good enough. So, we’re gonna get better. I’ve gotta do a better job. We’re gonna get after players. If they’re gonna stay here, they’re gonna work their ass off. If they don’t, then we’ve gotta find somebody who will.”

In addition to its star-studded 2023 signing class, the Ducks made four transfer additions.

Former Florida Southwestern State guard Jadrian Tracey, former Georgia guard Kario Oquendo, former Central Michigan guard Jesse Zarzuela, and former Stetson center Mahamadou Diawara have all joined Altman’s squad via the portal.

Oregon also returns guards Keeshawn BarthelemyJermaine Couisnardand Brennan Rigsby, and centers Nate Bittle and N’Faly Dante.

Dante was selected to the preseason all-conference team.
