Oregon has received a commitment from a former in-state star.
Holden Whipple, an offensive lineman who spent last season at Northern Arizona University and starred at West Salem (Ore.), announced Wednesday afternoon that he has committed to Dan Lanning’s program.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound freshman who did not play during the 2021 season, Whipple was a 2-star recruit out of high school according to 247 Sports. During his time in Flagstaff, Whiiple played under Lumberjack’s offensive coordinator and former Oregon receiver Aaron Pflugrad.
“It’s absolutely incredible. Playing for the Ducks down in Eugene, rolling into Autzen Stadium on Saturdays is absolutely a dream come true,” Whipple told Pete Martini of the Statesman Journal. “I have been dreaming of days like this since I was just a little kid playing football with my dad in the living room.”
