Oregon MBB falls two spots, to No. 15 in Week 12 AP Poll
Oregon has had a very impressive season thus far despite some very close games against both awful competition, and some great teams. The Ducks were lucky to get a few days off to prepare for Purdue, but the team actually suffered more from the time off. Oregon was unable to get any rhythm offensively and couldn’t rebound at the rate necessary to win a top 20 showdown against Purdue.
Now, the Ducks find themselves dropping two spots in the newest edition of the AP Poll. Luckily, the Ducks next two games should be easier, with a home matchup tomorrow against Washington, and a road game at Minnesota. These contests are Quad 3 and Quad 2 opportunities, respectfully, and would be terrible losses on the resume.
Following these two games, Oregon will face UCLA on the road to finish off the month on January. This will be a rematch for the bank-in buzzer beater in Eugene, which gave UCLA the 73-71 win. This will be another Quad 1 matchup, and I feel better about this game now than I did a few weeks ago, due to the Bruins recent struggles. Oregon will start February with a Quad 2 home game against Nebraska, before hitting the road to play Quad 1 teams, Michigan, and Michigan State. The end of January, and early February will really determine if the Ducks will be a top 4 seed in March Madness or not.
