Oregon Offers Legacy QB Akili Smith Jr.

Some of us have been around long enough to recall watching Akili Smith tear it up at Autzen stadium. And now life comes full circle on Friday with his son, Akili Smith Jr. getting a scholarship offer from his alma mater.
Vista Murrietta (Calif.) quarterback Akili Smith Jr. reported an offer from the Ducks on Friday. It is his sixth scholarship offer. He reported the offer coming from Oregon OC Will Stein.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder is a quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. Smith also reports offers from Miami, Michigan, Arizona and Cal among others.

Last season Smith threw 30 touchdown passes and only had 4 interceptions. He also threw for over 2,400 yards on the season.
In his historic career at Oregon, Akili Smith Sr. threw for over 5,000 yards and had 45 touchdowns against 15 interceptions. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1999 draft as the 3rd overall pick. Smith also played for the Packers and Bucs in his NFL career.
