Oregon officially names Drew Mehringer as TE coach

Dan Lanning has officially locked in another addition to his coaching staff.

Oregon announced Tuesday that it has hired Drew Mehringer as its next tight ends coach. Mehringer, 34, spent last season as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at New Mexico.

Throughout his 14-year career, Mehringer has coached a plethora of positions his coaching resume is as follows.

  • Rice (SA) 2007-09
  • Iowa State (GA) 2010-2011
  • Ohio State (GA) 2012-13
  • James Madison (co-OC and QBs) 2014
  • Houston (WR and run-game coordinator) 2015
  • Rutgers (OC/QBs) 2016
  • Texas (WR and pass-game coordinator) 2017-19
  • FAU (co-OC and WR) 2020
  • New Mexico (co-OC and QB)

In 2019, Rivals tabbed Mehringer as its national recruiter of the year after his work on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns.

Oregon has now officially announced the hires of Joe Lorig as its special teams and nickels coach, Adrian Klemm as its offensive line coach, Demetrice Martin as cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator, Matt Powledge as co-defensive coordinator, and Kenny Dillingham as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
