Oregon opens as two-score betting favorite over Washington ahead of Pac-12 title game
All eyes will be on Las Vegas this Friday as No. 3 Washington and No. 5 Oregon meet in the Pac-12 title game with a spot in the College Football Playoff possibly at stake.
According to the early betting lines, it would appear that the Ducks are significant favorites over the Huskies.
FanDuel lists Oregon as a -8.5 favorite over Washington, while DraftKings and Bet 365 list the Ducks at -9.
When the teams met in Seattle on Oct. 14, Washington emerged with a close-fought 36-33 win. Oregon had a chance to send the game to overtime, but Camden Lewis’ potential game-tying field goal sailed wide.
“A lot of people wanna see how we respond and I’m excited for that. That’s the challenge I can’t wait for,” Oregon quarterback Bo Nix said after the loss. “This group is going to be able to write it’s own story, write it’s own journey. If it was easy, everybody would do it. If there were no failures, then everybody would be playing football, you know? So, I think that’s part of it. You win and lose, go out there and play your best. Go out there and enjoy the process. Even though I hated the outcome, today was one heck of a football game that I loved playing. I’ll lose with those guys any day. Because I know what they’ve put into it. . … I’m proud to play with this locker room. I’m proud to play for these coaches. It means a lot to me.

“I’m not going to quit on them and I know they’re not going to quit on me. So, we have a lot to play for as the season goes on. I think it’s a challenge that I’m built for and I think I was just put into this position for that. And that’s what I’m gonna do.”
Since the Washington loss, the Ducks have notched six consecutive wins and looked like one of the top teams in the country on both sides of the ball.
They capped off an 11-1 regular season last Friday with a 31-7 win over Oregon State to secure a trip to the conference title game. They will look to overcome a Washington team that escaped with a 24-21 win over Washington State in the Apple Cup on Saturday.
The Ducks and Huskies are slated for a 5:00 p.m. PT kickoff on Dec. 1. The game will air on ABC.
