Oregon outfielder Anthony Hall selected by New York Yankees in fourth round of 2022 MLB Draft

Following a stellar campaign during his sophomore season in Eugene, Oregon outfielder Anthony Hall appears set to begin his professional career.
The New York Yankees selected Hall in the fourth round with the 130th overall pick on Monday. He is the second Ducks off the board after the Toronto Blue Jays selected shortstop Josh Kasevich in the second round with the 60th overall pick on Sunday.
Oregon commit Jackson Cox, a right-handed pitcher from Washington who is the gem of the Ducks’ 2022 recruiting class, was selected 50th overall by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. The slot value for the pick is approximately $456,000.
Hall is the second-highest drafted Oregon outfielder of the modern era after the Texas Rangers selected his former teammate, Aaron Zavala, 38th overall last year.
In 60 games during the 2022 season, Hall slashed .333/.402/.640 with 17 doubles, 14 home runs, and 56 RBIs. He primarily played right field for the Ducks but boasts positional versatility.

Prior to the draft, MLB.com tabbed Hall as the No. 140 overall prospect available. He was mentioned in the days leading up to the draft as a sleeper by many draft experts, in large part, due to his power and athleticism.
During the offseason, Hall entered the transfer portal and had likely played his last game in Eugene regardless of where he was drafted.
Hall’s selection marks the second year in a row an Oregon player has been drafted by the Yankees. Last season, New York drafted left-handed pitcher Robert Ahlstrom in the seventh round.
