With the 2023 college football season just around the corner, the Pac-12 will hold its annual media day on July 21 at Resorts World Las Vegas.

On Thursday, the conference announced its full list of 24 student-athletes who will join their respective head coaches at the event.

In addition to head coach Dan Lanning, Oregon will be represented by senior quarterback Bo Nix and junior inside linebacker Jeffrey Bassa.

Nix is coming off a strong debut season with the Ducks that culminated with him earning all-Pac-12 honorable mention honors. He finished the 2022 campaign 294-for-409 passing (71.9%) for 3,593 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also ran for 510 yards on 89 carries (5.7 yards-per-carry) and 14 touchdowns.

His passing yards were the fourth-most ever by an Oregon quarterback during a single season, and his completion percentage was the best in program history.

Bassa, meanwhile, locked down a starting job as a true sophomore last season and played the fifth-most snaps (647) among Oregon defenders. In 13 games, he was second among Oregon defenders with 62 tackles and also tallied 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.

A former 4-star signee, Bassa arrived at Oregon as a box safety but has emerged as a leader along the Ducks’ front seven over the past 12 months.

“I think he’s attacked a lot of things and we had a nutrition plan going into the offseason for him,” Lanning said following Oregon’s first spring practice. “I think he’s done a really good job of being diligent and focused on that. … I expect him not just to coach himself but to start coaching some guys around him. You’re starting to see that show up.”

Last year, center Alex Forsyth and EDGE DJ Johnson represented UO at Pac-12 Media Day.

Each head coach and student-athlete press conference will air on Pac-12 Networks.
