Oregon Poised for Big Saturday in Recruiting
The Ducks look like they are set to add to the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the Pac-12 conference. On Saturday a pair of Oregon targets in the 2024 recruiting class will make their announcements.
Oregon currently has 11 commits in the 2024 class. And that Oregon class currently ranks as the No. 9 class in the On3 2024 rankings. Over the next few days we could see that class move even higher if things go the right direction for the Ducks.
Let’s take a look at the two Saturday announcements to watch.
Quarterback: Michael Van Buren
4-Star — No. 182 overall player
Current On3 RPM Leader: Oregon 95%
Announcement Time: 1 PM PST (Live stream TBA)
Right now, it sure looks like Oregon is about to add a second quarterback to its 2024 recruiting class. All signs point to the Ducks led by three predictions from Sam Spiegelman, Josh Newberg and myself back on April 23/24. Additionally, Penn State insider, Sean Fitz, has also made a pick for Oregon just four days ago.
It would be a pretty massive shock at this point if he picked anyone but Oregon. Penn State is the biggest threat with Maryland also one of his three finalists.

While Oregon has grabbed the late run of predictions, it was widely viewed as a Michigan State/Oklahoma battle. And both remain threats for his commitment. However the picks have rolled in for Oregon including Oklahoma insider Josh McCuistion. Scott Schrader, our USC insider, was the first pick on May 13, with mine coming 3 days later.
Sims is a very talented 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman that would make a great addition to an already strong defensive line group at Oregon.
