While the Ducks saw a late cycle shuffle at the quarterback position, it ended up working well for Oregon. With long-time commit Dante Moore heading to UCLA, new OC Will Stein pivoted immediately to long-time Baylor commit Austin Novosad.

This week both happen to be in San Antonio at the All-American bowl. Which includes the best of the best nationally at every position group.

The two teams are geographically split into East and West. The game is set to be played this Saturday, January 7 at 12 P.M. in the Alamodome and televised on NBC.

After day one, it was Oregon’s signee that led all signal-callers including Dante Moore, according to On3.

1. Austin Novosad – Oregon

Austin Novosad and Lincoln Kienholz were neck and neck Tuesday morning, but the Oregon signe pulled away as the West’s top quarterback during the afternoon session. His ability to push the ball downfield and layer passes during the 7-on-7 and team periods was top notch. Novosad was consistently accurate throughout the day and showed a quick release with excellent zip on the football. While he needs to get more comfortable when working out of the pocket, Novosad is a sniper with the ball in his hands when his feet are set. Novosad ranks as the No. 170 overall prospect in the On300. – Cody Bellaire

2. Dante Moore – UCLA

3. Lincoln Kienholz – Ohio State

4. Aidan Chiles – Oregon State

5. Christopher Vizzina – Clemson

6. Pierce Clarkson – Louisville

On3 Scouting Summary:

Stat-stuffing pure pocket passer with clean mechanics and the ability to throw with timing and touch. Plays in an air-it-out system at the high school level that puts up tons of points. Completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 3,399 yards and 40 touchdowns against 9 interceptions at 10.39 yards per attempt as a junior. Has a natural, tight throwing motion and spins the ball well. Most comfortable when sitting back and delivering from the pocket. Shows nuance as a passer with the ability to deliver well-located throws to all levels. Has room to add mass to his 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame. Tests as a solid athlete, running a 4.87 second 40-yard dash and jumping 34 inches in the vertical. Can do a better job of translating that athleticism to the field. Has not been much of a playmaker outside of the pocket to this point. Rushed for -27 yards as a junior, the highest-rated 2023 quarterback with a negative rushing total.
