Oregon quarterback Bo Nix will start for Ducks in Week 12 showdown with Utah
After days of endless speculation regarding the status of Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, the star senior is set to start for the Ducks’ Week 12 showdown with Utah.
Nix suffered a right ankle injury late during Oregon’s Week 11 loss to Washington.
Dan Lanning and the Oregon coaching staff declined to release details on Nix’s availability throughout the week, and there were various reporters early Saturday that he would be a game-time decision.
Nix went through full pregame warmups with no noticeable limp and was not sporting any sort of brace.
He initially worked with starting center Alex Forsyth during warmups, and also took snaps from starting guard Ryan Walk, who is Oregon’s backup center.
Toward the end of warmups, the Ducks went through the usual 11-on-11 work and Nix was orchestrating the first-team offense. Redshirt freshman Ty Thompson worked with the No. 2 unit.
Coming into the weekend, Nix was tied for the FBS lead with 39 total touchdowns. He has thrown for has accumulated 2,775 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, and just five interceptions.
Nix wasn’t the only Oregon player who was dealing with injury concerns this week.
Forsyth and Walk both left the Washington game with injuries and their status was questionable throughout the week.

But both players went through warmups, and Walk will be available to play.
But Forsyth was in street clothes when the Ducks returned to the field after warmups and will not be available.
Starting receiver Chase Cota, reserve cornerback Jahlil Florence, and offensive lineman Steven Jones also went through warmups and will all be available for the Ducks.
Cota has not played since suffering a knee injury in Week 10. Florence missed the last two games for disclosed reasons. Jones has not played since suffering an injury in Week 2.
Defensive lineman Taki Taimani, who has been dinged up this season, got some extra work in with strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love during warmups. The same was true for starting left tackle T.J. Bass.
Bass appeared good to go during 11-on-11 work.
