For the second season in a row, six former Oregon Ducks have received invites to the NFL Scouting Combine.

The NFL announced its list of 319 players who received combine invites on Wednesday, and the Oregon program was well represented. Offensive linemen Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, T.J. Bass, and Alex Forsyth. linebacker Noah Sewell, outside linebacker DJ Johnson, and cornerback Christian Gonzalez made the cut.

Last season, EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux, safety Verone McKinley III, cornerback Mykael Wright, running back CJ Verdell, receiver Johnny Johnson III, and receiver Devon Williams were all invited to the Combine. Ultimately, Thibodeaux was the only player from that group who was drafted and went No. 5 overall to the New York Giants.

Although Oregon has received criticism as a program in recent seasons for a perceived failure to consistently produce NFL talent, the Ducks’ 2023 group of combine invitees stacks up extremely well when compared with their Pac-12 peers.

No other program in the conference received more NFL Combine invites this year than Oregon did.

USC, which features a couple of potential day-one draft picks in receiver Jordan Addison and defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu, received the second-most invites at five. Former Duck Travis Dye was featured among the Trojans’ invitees.

Alabama led all programs with 13 invites, and Georgia was second with 12.
