Oregon Recruiting Hour: When Will the Ducks' Skid End?

There are always twists and turns, ebbs and flows and highs and lows in recruiting. Right now Oregon is definitely in a low, with no new commitments since February and three priority targets pledging to other schools in recent days.
5-star quarterback Jared Curtis committed to Georgia, 4-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt committed to Ohio State and Derek Colman-Brusa committed to Washington.
So what’s going on with the Ducks on the recruiting trail? When might this dry spell end? ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins dive into that and more on the latest episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast.
With Curtis off the board to Georgia, it looks like Oregon will go all-in on 5-star Folsom (Calif.) quarterback Ryder Lyons. Lyons was on campus in Eugene earlier this spring and the Oregon coaching staff recently hit the road to visit him in Northern California during the spring evaluation period.
The buzz with Lyons had been with USC, but following Curtis’ pledge to the Bulldogs, predictions from Steve Wiltfong, Justin Hopkins and others came in for the Ducks to land one of the most coveted passers in the country. Lyons is now the highest-ranked uncommitted quarterback in the 2026 class.

5-star plus+ Nixa (MO) offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell is scheduled to announce his decision on May 13 and took an official visit to Oregon last month for the spring game. The Ducks are finalists for him and currently lead for 5-star plus+ Baltimore (Md.) Georgetown Preparatory School offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. A’lique Terry, Will Stein and Ross Douglas visited him on the road in the DMV this week.
Oregon signed the No. 4 class in the country for 2025 and should sign another elite group in 2026, even if things have been rough on the recruiting trail lately. Max and Justin also look back at how Oregon’s recruiting classes have taken shape in the summer months after official visits, as well as late in the fall ahead of the early signing period in December.
Official visit season is underway and the Ducks are still in the mix with a number of 5-star prospects and priority targets in the 2026 class. It’s just a matter of time until their run comes.
