Oregon releases uniforms ahead of showdown with Washington
No. 8 Oregon has released its uniform combination ahead of Saturday’s showdown with No. 7 Washington in Seattle.
The Ducks will be back in their vaunted eggshell combination against the Huskies.
The Ducks and Huskies are set for a 12:30 p.m. kick-off on Saturday. The game will air on ABC.
Oregon (5-0, 2-0) and Washington (5-0, 2-0) are both coming off of bye weeks and will each have an opportunity to establish themselves as the clear-cut Pac-12 front-runner on Saturday. ESPN College Gameday will be in Seattle for what figures to be the marquee college football matchup on Saturday.
“I think it’s about the start, the middle, and the finish in this one,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said on Monday. “You want to start well. They’ve had some games where they were able to start off really fast so far this season. I think it was 14-0 against California before their offense even touched the field. (Washington) played several good teams this year they’ve won by more than 27 points. I think last week was the one game where it came back and got to be a little bit close at the end, but really, they had control of that game as well for the most part. They proved to be a team that can start fast. We have to make sure we can do the same.”

Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. leads the nation with 399 passing yards per game and is tied for third with 16 passing touchdowns in five games. He will look to spread the ball around to a loaded receiver room that features Rome Oduzne, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Jalen McMillan — all of whom are highly-touted prospects ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
“They probably give the biggest variety of pre-snap motions and shifts of any team that we played so far this year,” Lanning said of the Washington offense. “You know, they have a great deep passing attack, but I think (Penix) also has the ability to get rid of the ball when he does have pressure on him. So I think what he knows if somebody’s free, he knows where it’s coming from. He does a good job of elluding that pressure. Just a couple times last year we had him hemmed up and we didn’t finish. He did a good job of avoiding it and he probably doesn’t get enough credit for that.”
