Oregon reveals uniforms ahead of Week 9 showdown at Utah
The No. 8 Oregon Ducks have revealed their uniform combination ahead of Saturday’s showdown with No. 13 Utah in Salt Lake City.
The Ducks will be back in white jerseys with black helmets and black pants after rolling out their long-awaited retro uniforms during last week’s home win over Washington State.
The No. 8 Ducks (6-1, 3-1 Pac-12) will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they square off with No. 13 Utah (6-1, 3-1) at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The Utes have been one of the best teams in the nation at stopping the run this year, and they have managed to stay in contention for the Pac-12 title despite losing numerous star players to injury. Starting quarterback Cam Rising, star tight end Brant Kuithe, and sophomore linebacker Lander Barton — among others — are all out for the year.
“The amount of injuries that they’ve dealt with and for (Whittingham) to be able to utilize defensive personnel on offense and shuffle positions and utilize offensive linemen at tight end — I think it’s just really impressive,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning Lanning said. “Everyone’s always known that he’s a great coach. But the way that he and his staff have been able to utilize the people they have; I know at the beginning of the year he spoke about the depth of his team.

“It’s starting to really show up. He has good depth. But they’re utilizing people in different ways than they anticipated when the year started and he’s done a great job coaching that group.”
The Ducks are coming off a decisive 38-24 win over Washington State in Week 8. They emerged from the game with an almost entirely healthy roster and now will look to notch their first win in Salt Lake City since 2016.
The ESPN College Gameday crew will be in town for what figures to be one of the marquee college football matchups of the weekend.
“I think it’ll be a great environment,” Lanning said on Monday. “I know that they get loud there. I know that they love their team. So it should be a lot of fun for us. I think that speaks to the job that Utah has done this year and the job that we’ve done this year to put ourselves in that position to have GameDay there.”
The Ducks and Utes are set to kick off at 12:30 p.m. PT. The game will air on FOX.
