Oregon Safety Tyler Turner Enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Oregon redshirt freshman safety Tyler Turner has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
The 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back utilized a redshirt as a true freshman and appeared in 17 total games during his two seasons at Oregon. In those 17 games he totaled seven tackles and two pass breakups. He played in all 13 of Oregon’s games to this point in the 2024 season, appearing primarily on special teams.
As a recruit Turner signed with the Ducks as a four-star (89.61 per On3 Industry) prospect in the 2023 recruiting class out of Brennan High School in San Antonio, Texas. The same system ranked him as the No. 367 player nationally, the No. 32 safety and the No. 64 prospect in Texas.
The Texas product was one of two safeties to sign with Oregon in the 2023 recruiting class. Kodi DeCambra was the second safety, and he transferred from Oregon to UNLV following one season with the Ducks in Eugene.

Oregon will likely turn to the transfer portal for safety depth in 2025, with Kobe Savage, Tysheem Johnson and Brandon Johnson all set to exhaust their eligibility this season.
Turner is the third Oregon player to enter the transfer portal, joining true freshman offensive lineman Jac’Qawn McRoy and true freshman outside linebacker Jaxson Jones.
Oregon signed one safety in the 2025 recruiting class in On3 Industry five-star Trey McNutt from Cleveland, Ohio. The Ducks signed a trio of safeties last offseason, adding four-stars Kingston Lopa, Aaron Flowers and Peyton Woodyward.
